Vamana is a unique procedure of eliminating the dosha from the body through the oral route, by inducing vomiting. It is very effective for Kapha dosha elimination. Forcefull expulsion of undigested pitta and kapha through upper (oral) route is known as Vamana. Snehana (oil massage externally and internally – ghee orally), Swedana (heat treatments) fallowed by induction of vomiting and subjected to Sansarjana karma (diet plan); This entire procedure is called Vamana karma.

It is not only stomach washing, it is a whole body cleansing process and totally different from Kunjal kriya in yoga.
