 The founder of Divya Prem Sewa Mission (DPSM) Shri Ashish Gautam was born in an economically modest rural family in Hamirpur, on 22-October-1963. The teachings of Swami Vivekananda set him on the path of self realization. He came in contact with many religious and social organizations including the RSS.
Divya Prem Sewa Mission was started under a Peepal tree - a small thatched hut. This hut served both the dressing theater for the leprosy patients as well the residence of the man with minimum means of subsistence. Another hut sprang up when a friend joined. Children from adjoining slums started coming and a non conventional school began to function.
